FLUIDITY OF MATERIAL AND THE BODY

This shoot reflects the dynamic fluidity of material and its impact on the body. Through a shoot that takes inspiration from the world of ballet, where the body is both disciplined and free. The juxtaposition of form-fitting silhouette of a leotard and tights with the billowing shapes of a puffball hem creates a sense of strength and vulnerability. The use of a bold monochrome colour palette - red and black - further highlights the contrast between power and delicacy. The choice of outdoor locations emphasises authenticity, allowing the dancers’ movements to remain unrestrained, a testament to their agency and connection with the materials they wear.
